About Engines

iMetaSearch is a meta-search tool. It asks other search engines for search results and then clusters, indexes, and sorts those results in order to find relevant results. It uses an engine definition file (*.eng file) to tell it how to use the other search engines.

These engine files are just text files and are used automatically once they are placed in the iMetaSearch directory. Search Options allows you to include or exclude whatever engines you wish when running a search.

iMetaSearch can also fix engine files.
