There are five options in the Tools | Show Options dialog box that affect how iMetaSearch operates:

·First is a list of engines that can be used during searches. Normally, all engines are checked and used for each search, but you are free to uncheck engines and use just a subset of them (or even just one) during searches.
·Second, there is a time limit on searches that appear as the first option on the . If a search hasn't completed within a set number of seconds, it is aborted and whatever results have been downloaded are used. You can set the number of seconds.
·Third is the maximum number of words that a phrase can have. This is set at 7 words/phrase by default but you are free to set it to another number.
·Fourth is a checkbox for choosing whether to show tips on using iMetaSearch appear when the it first starts up. The default is that startup tips will appear when iMetaSearch starts up.
·Last is a trace option which is useful for tracking down any problems that may occur. When this option is a 1, then additional files are generated to help figure out where a problem occured.

In addition, the Search Bar lets you set the number of search results to get. By adjusting the number just to the left of the Search Button, you can get any number of search results.
